Ba Na Hills is a mountain resort on Nui Chua, built on the site of a French hill station from the 1920s. Today it is reached by cable car from a base station in Hoa Vang district, west of Da Nang. At the top you will find the Golden Bridge (Cau Vang) held up by two giant stone hands, a French-style village, flower gardens, Linh Ung pagoda and the Fantasy Park indoor amusement centre.
There is no public transport that is convenient for most visitors, so the usual options are a group tour or a private car. With a private car you decide when to leave — ideally early, before the tour buses arrive — and how long to stay. The driver drops you at the cable car station and picks you up there when you come back down. Entrance and cable car tickets are sold by the resort and are not part of the transfer price.
What to see at Ba Na Hills
- 1
Golden Bridge (Cau Vang)
The 150 m walkway held by giant stone hands is the reason most people come. It is busiest from late morning, so go there first if you arrive early.
- 2
French Village
A recreated European-style square with a cathedral, cafés and street performances. It is also the main place for lunch at the top.
- 3
Le Jardin d'Amour and Linh Ung pagoda
Terraced flower gardens and a large seated Buddha with views over the valley — quieter spots to walk between the main attractions.
- 4
Fantasy Park
An indoor amusement area with rides and games that is popular with families, and a good backup when it rains or the summit is in fog.
Which vehicle fits your group
The road up to the cable car station is good and does not need a special vehicle. The 4-seat sedan suits couples and groups of up to three; families of four to six will be more comfortable in the 7-seat MPV, especially with a pushchair or day bags.
School groups, company outings and large families can travel together in the 16-seat Ford Transit or DCAR limousine and avoid coordinating several cars at the end of a long day.

Tips for your Ba Na Hills day
- Leave early so you reach the cable car around opening time — the Golden Bridge is far less crowded in the first hours.
- Bring a light jacket: it is often several degrees cooler at the top than in Da Nang, and fog is common in the rainy season (roughly September to December).
- Wear comfortable shoes; there are many steps and slopes between the attractions.
- Check current ticket prices and opening hours on the resort's official website before you go, as they change seasonally.
